This year, I moved across the country and went from an office of just a few to a corporation with several thousand employees. Before this big move, I would communicate with others in the office mostly by voice. Seeing someone face to face meant only a couple dozen steps in any direction. These days, comminucation with co-workers is a completely different experience. The company I'm now with brought together all of the communication to make my work more effecient and CDW is offering the same kind of solution.
Cloud Collaboration and Unified Communication
Cloud collaboration is the combining of multiple communication tools in the cloud to streamline how members of your team share information and, well, collaborate. Bringing together instant messaging with screen sharing and phone calls, for example, is more efficient than having to connect with multiple pieces of software from a few different vendors. Information Week stated that 50% of user organizations saved up to 20 minutes per employee per day by way of more effiecient message management, and I believe it. I'm sure I save 10-20 minutes a day myself on normal days and on a day where I work from home, my unified communication makes me almost as accessible as if I had gone to the office.
CDW Cloud Collaboration pairs CDW's industry experience with Cisco's solutions to create a new cloud collaboration offering designed to save money for companies of almost any size. While I haven't used CDW's Could Collaboration myself, I have dealt with CDW for years and just about everyone who's ever been online has probably pushed data through Cisco hardware at one time. CDW and Cisco know their hardware and networking, so it doesn't much surprise me that they're touting four-nines uptime. CDW's solutions site offeres some fairly impressive details about their facilities and network:
